The Department’s activities are directed by the socio-economic needs of the region. The department provides high-quality training for students and Master degrees for postgraduates. Those who get a diploma in Management are employed by industrial, construction and agricultural enterprises, as well as by state organizations. The Department actively interacts with actual economic entities: a few dozens business plans and investment projects have been developed by the teaching staff. As a result, foreign investments are attracted, new jobs are created and more FEZ residents are established in Brest region.

• Management of business activity in modern conditions (supervisor V. Mashinsky, Associate Prof., Cand. Sc.)
• Development of system for anti-crisis management and enterprise reorganization (supervisor V. Chindarev, Associate Prof.)
• Improvement of logistic organization in construction (supervisor I. Kulakov, Associate Prof.)
• Optimization of management system for investment and construction activity (supervisor N. Nosko, Senior Lecturer)
• Economic aspects of optimum management (supervisor N.Grudnitskaya)

Students’ research work is carried out along the department’s major research line under the supervision of educational, scientific and production Association "ECOSTROY" as well as on their own initiative. Students research basic scientific, economic, and production problems relating to economic and investment activity in construction and other sectors of national economy.

Every year about 40 students successfully submit their research projects to local, regional and national contests.

The work of the department is provided by 20 teachers: 2 Doctors of Sciences, 6 Candidates of Science and Associate Professors, 8 Senior Teachers and 4 Assistants.
From the moment of creation the department was led by:

• until 1997 - Alexander Ivanovich Rubakhov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor;
• 1998 - 2011 - Pavlyuchuk Yuri Nikolaevich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
• 2011 - 2017 - Maxim Timofeevich Kozinets, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

Since July 2017, the department has been headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Viktoria Zazerskaya.

Cooperation with enterprises

Employees of the department successfully cooperate with the subjects of the real sector of the economy, as evidenced by numerous acts of implementation the results of scientific research into the production, as well as diploma and course design.

The department constantly conducts work aimed at concluding economic agreements between the enterprises of the western region of the Republic of Belarus and Brest State Technical University for improving and optimizing activities, advising on the development of business plans for investment projects, development strategies, plans for the activities of the subjects of the Free Economic Zone "Brest" etc.

Educational and scientific-production association "Ecostroy"

The Management Department actively cooperates with the State Production Design and Construction Unitary Enterprise "Brestobselstroi Association". Together with it, on December 10, 2007, the Educational Scientific Production Association "ECOSTROI" was established on the basis of the Department of Management.

The activities of "EKOSTROY" are carried out in accordance with the approved program of the BrSTU and the "Brestobselstroi Association" for a calendar year. According to the approved program, the following activities are constantly implemented:

• formation of subjects and bases of the practice of the thesis design, reflecting the scientific and industrial interests of the State Unitary Enterprise "Combination of Brestobselstroy";
• Consultation of the thesis work carried out on the basis of the materials of the "Combination of Brestobselstroy" units;
• formation of the list of enterprises of "Combination of Brestobselstroy"- bases of familiarization and production practice;
• management of familiarization and production practices at the enterprises of "Combination of Brestobselstroy";
• reviewing the thesis papers;
• formation of the theme of the course design, reflecting the scientific and industrial interests of the departments of the "Combination of Brestobselstroy";
• Participation in the work of the state examination boards as head of Department and members;
• conducting classroom sessions with students on topical practical issues of economics, organization, management and construction technology;
• lecturing for employees of the State Unitary Enterprise "Brestobselselstroy" on topical issues of the economy, organization, construction management, quality management of construction products;
• publishing of joint scientific and methodological developments
