Every year on September 15, Belarus celebrates Library Day, established in honor of the opening of the country's main book treasury - the National Library of Belarus. This holiday has become an important event for the library community and all book lovers, reflecting the cultural heritage and contribution of libraries to the development of national culture and science.

September 15 was chosen as the date for establishing Library Day, since it was on this day that the National Library of Belarus was founded, which became a symbol of Belarusian literature and culture. Founded in 1922, the library was originally called the Central Scientific Library of the Belarusian State University, but later received the status of national heritage.

Today, the National Library Collection includes millions of copies of documents in different languages ​​of the world, covering a wide range of topics - from classical literature to the latest scientific research.
