National Seminar "On the Progress of Implementing the Instructions of the Government of the Republic of Belarus Regarding Improving the Training of Engineering Personnel, Implementing the Program for the Creation of Competence Centers, and Other Issues"

On November 14, 2025, a national seminar "On the Progress of Implementing the Instructions of the Government of the Republic of Belarus Regarding Improving the Training of Engineering Personnel, Implementing the Program for the Creation of Competence Centers, and Other Issues" was held at Brest State Technical University.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Vladimirovna Petkevich, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanovich Ivanets, and Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Viktor Anatolyevich Rafalovich were guests of honor at BrSTU. Rectors of leading technical universities of Belarus, representatives of ministries and departments, as well as heads of enterprises and organizations involved in engineering training also participated in the event.

The seminar began with a tour of BrSTU's Industrial Robotics and Digital Engineering Competence Center. Guests were shown the university's achievements in scientific research, innovation development, educational process organization, and the introduction of new formats of cooperation with regional enterprises.

The seminar opened with a report by the Minister of Education, "On the Implementation of the Government of the Republic of Belarus's Instructions to Improve the Training of Engineering Personnel." Andrei Ivanovich reported on the measures taken by the Ministry of Education to improve the quality of training for future engineers. In his report, he emphasized the need for close cooperation between universities and industrial enterprises to develop in-demand professional skills in students.

Participants in the national seminar at BrSTU discussed a wide range of issues related to improving the training of engineering personnel and the implementation of the program to establish competence centers. Key topics included:

  • improving the quality of engineering training;
  • interaction between higher education institutions
  • with enterprises in the real sector of the economy in training engineering personnel;
  • efficiency and development prospects for engineering classes.

Summing up, the participants noted the important role of interdepartmental cooperation in improving the quality of engineering training. A decision was made to continue work on creating specialized competence centers, improving university infrastructure, and strengthening ties with businesses.
