A unique electronic teaching and methodological complex on heating and heat supply was developed by a BrSTU instructor

Vladimir Gennadievich Novoseltsev, Head of the Department of Heat, Gas Supply, and Ventilation, has developed and implemented a practice-oriented Electronic Teaching and Methodological Complex (ETMC) for the new academic discipline "Heating and Heat Supply of Agricultural Facilities and Individual Construction" (introduced into the curriculum in 2024) for students majoring in 7-07-0732-02 of the advanced higher education program "Engineering Networks, Equipment for Buildings and Structures. Specialization: Heat, Gas Supply, Ventilation, and Air Protection."

The educational process in the Republic of Belarus lacks similar academic disciplines for students majoring in "Engineering Networks, Equipment for Buildings and Structures," and, accordingly, there are no practice-oriented EUMK (Electronic Methodological Kits). While developing the EUMK laboratory practical course, V.G. Novoseltsev created modern, unique laboratory setups with equipment from leading specialized manufacturers in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, enabling the study of modern automated engineering systems for various facilities. These laboratory setups are located in the "Automated and Intelligent Engineering Systems" laboratory of the "Digital Engineering and Robotics" Competence Center at BrSTU and have begun to be used as part of online learning for students majoring in similar programs at other universities in the Republic of Belarus.

Teaching aids for coursework similar in structure and scope to those compiled within the EUMK are also currently unavailable in the Republic of Belarus.

Agricultural production is one of the major sectors of the national economy. Livestock farming is a leading agricultural industry in the Republic of Belarus, accounting for over 50% of gross agricultural output. Modern animal husbandry technologies place high demands on the microclimate in livestock buildings, and failure to comply with these standards can lead to significant damage.

Individual housing construction in the Republic of Belarus accounts for over 40% of the total housing construction annually. Currently, there are no mandatory requirements for the design of heating and heat supply systems for individual construction projects. However, there is a growing demand for such projects due to the complexity of modern automated systems, including those with remote access. This requires the training of highly qualified specialists in the design and installation of heating and heat supply systems. Therefore, the use of the developed EUMK will facilitate the effective training of engineers and specialists for design, installation, and operation organizations in the field of agricultural and individual facilities.
