An event dedicated to the discussion of family values among young people was held at Brest State Technical University. This event was part of the national spiritual and moral project "The Power of Words," organized by the Youth Council under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus jointly with the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
The project was launched on September 9, 2024, with the aim of fostering traditional family values and strengthening the institution of young families among Belarusian youth. The main objective is to increase the level of spiritual maturity among young people, develop a proper understanding of family responsibility, and instill a sense of patriotism and respect for their history.
The event format includes open dialogue platforms where young people have the opportunity to openly discuss important issues related to family, traditions, and values of modern society. Such meetings help young people unlock their inner potential and develop a clear understanding of the importance of strong families for personal happiness and the well-being of the entire nation.
The dialogue platform "Family: Responsibility, Traditions, and Values of Modern Youth" brought together university students, as well as young people from the enterprises UP Brestoblgaz and RUP Brestenergo. Guests of the meeting included Alexander Aleksandrovich Korkotadze, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Nikolaevich Parfievich, Rector of BrSTU, as well as representatives of the Youth Council of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
The speakers discussed the role of the family as a solid foundation not only for private life but also for national security and the demographic prosperity of the state. Particular attention was paid to issues of responsibility to family, preserving traditions, and instilling positive life goals in the younger generation.
