As part of their "Russian as a Foreign Language" course, students from China and Arab countries visited the "Rescued Artistic Treasures" branch of the Brest Regional Museum of Local History.
The purpose of the field trip was not only to introduce the students to the region's cultural heritage but also to develop practical Russian language skills. The unusual format of the live lesson helped expand the students' vocabulary and improve their ability to perceive speech in a natural language environment.
The audience was particularly drawn to the exhibit dedicated to the history of art rescues by customs officers during attempts to smuggle cultural treasures. The Chinese students proudly recognized motifs from their culture in the collection of oriental applied art, while the guests from Arab countries actively explored the unique techniques of Russian icon painting and the refinement of European masterpieces.
It's worth noting that such visits facilitate the effective sociocultural adaptation of foreign citizens and help establish intercultural dialogue through a shared understanding of global values. At the end of the tour, the students thanked the museum staff in Russian for the educational experience.
