On April 16, the final round of the annual International Student Startup Competition "Business Generation – 2026" was held at Brest State Technical University. Organized by the BrSTU Department of Management, the event was held under the auspices of the 60th anniversary of Brest State Technical University.

Project partners included the primary student trade union organization, the Brest Center for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification, and the Brest Science and Technology Park.

Nikolai Nikolaevich Shalobyta, Vice-Rector for Research at BrSTU, welcomed the contestants.

Sixty-five teams from 20 higher education institutions in Belarus, Russia, and Turkmenistan participated in the competition. Following the first, online round, 25 teams were invited to participate in the second, final round, 16 of which were our guests. Seven of them chose the in-person presentation and defense of their projects. The Faculty of Economics at BrSTU trained 12 teams, five of which were selected for the second round!

The competition, now in its eighth year, is growing and expanding, and today is a landmark event for BrSTU and Brest, attracting talented young people from around the world. It allows young people to showcase their innovative ideas and find potential investors to implement the most interesting ones. Today, the competition is a networking platform for meetings, interaction, and integration between different generations across a wide geography.

Participants presented projects with a wide range of ideas, addressing traditional issues of life as well as new areas of business and social development: tourism, education, manufacturing, medicine, pharmaceuticals, art, high technology, digital and financial sectors, resource conservation, and the environment. We are pleased to see a passionate, fresh, and youthful approach to many traditional tasks and challenges, and a unique perspective on them.

In total, the teams presented 25 unique startup projects to the jury, each distinguished by its originality and high level of development. Despite the difficulty of choosing among similarly rated competitors, the experts selected the winners and runners-up. All participants received certificates, and the best startups received well-deserved diplomas and commendations.
